Mornin' Folk ...

wondering if anyone has run into this issue ... and if they have found a workaround.

When we attempt to restore a backup on a remote server, it looks as if the process hangs from the client side. I0n actuallity, when we go to where the remote server is physically located, a dialog box is on the screen asking to insert a disc in drive A:, as if the restore thinks the backup is by default, on a floppy.

When we cancel this request, we are then able to point the restore to the correct network location from the client side that we issued the restore from. Has anyone had this problem?

Thanks

J. Kusch

I have got exactly this same problem!

Did you (or anyone else) find out what was causing it?

Cheers

Found a microsoft article about it q281345

Set the registry value to 2, and the nasty popup box is gone!
