I have SQL 2005 SP1 running reporting services.

On some of my reports, but not all of them, and not on every PC, I have an issue with drill through reports.

I can drill through from one report to another, and on some reports and only on some PCs, when I click the back button I get the "Page cannot be displayed" I.E. error.

Could this be a setting within IE or is there something else I'm missing. I get the feeling that its something simple.

The IE versions are 6 and 7 - no correlation between what fails and what does not.

Any clues?

It sounds like it is browser based, possibly the cookies setting? I would check into that and compare the options/settings between one that works and doesn't work (but with both having the same browser e.g. IE7 vs. IE7, not IE7 vs. IE6).

We had a similar problem with our website. I was seeing a javascript error and no one else was. I had my browser set to be more secure. I know in IE there's a setting to push all settings and security back to default. Maybe try that?

Hope that helps!

Thanks Brett.

I think you have hit the nail on the head. I have been working on this this afternoon, and it looks like a "zone" issue. On mine, I open the "master" report (in the local intranet zone) , drill down to the drill through report (in the local intranet zone) and then click back, and it is still in the local intranet zone. When I click back on a PC that doesnt work, it changes the zone to the Internet zone. The server is in the intranet zone, but I can't see why it should be changing zones.

Work and investigation is ongoing :)

I will post my findings cos I'm sure it will help someone if I can find a solution to this

Great. Good luck!

This is stumping me completely.
I add the report server to the local intranet zone. Navigate to the report and run it - it runs in the local intranet zone. I click to drill down to the drill through report, and it runs in the local intranet zone. so far all is as expected.
Click the browser back button and I see "page cannot be displayed" and when I look at the status bor to see what zone it is running in I see "Internet".
Anyone else had this, and has anyone solved it?
