Is it possible to create drill-downs from a cross-tab? We need to see the details of the numbers.

There are 2 ways you could do this. One way is to use the "Report Part" function/viewer, which is only available on version 9 and above when using DHTML to view your reports. I have never tried this myself, and it looks pretty complex. There is a white paper on the B.O site. The second way is to fool the user into thinking they are drilling through the Crosstab.

If your crosstab has a known and static number of rows, e.g months. You can try putting this CT in your report/group header. Then create a group below this, grouping on the items that make up the rows in crosstab above. If you then "underlay following sections" on your CT group, you can get your group names to look as if they are in your cross tab, by shifting them about and checking preview.

Of course, this will only allow users to drill down onto all items on the same row of your crosstab. If you want to go straight to the individual items, then you may need to look at "report parts", if you have success, let me know!

I'm installing version 9 today because I can't make it work in 8.5.

Now if I create the cross-tab then create a Report Part to have the drill-down, will this report run in version 8?

I was able to make this work in 8.5. Created 2 cross-tabs then 2 groups for the fields I wanted to drill-down.
