I am looking to set up a secure VPN for 2-3 remote workers to our server.

I have seen Draytek Vigor routers which appear to have good facilities (16 channel VPN, QoS, etc) at a competitive price (sub $150).

Any comments on whether they are a good buy? Or are they too cheap?

I have used these adsl routers on a number of occasions and can't fault them. Really easy to setup and get running. Creating site to site and remote user VPN connections is a straight forward process.

Great, thanks stp23. Thats what I wanted to hear!

I'm also looking at the Draytek routers for a VPN application, partly because our budget is really tight. Can anyone comment about how they compare with other routers in a similar price range, such as Linksys? Thanks.

I have 45 Drayteks - some 2600G some 2900G, most doing PPTP back to Head Office MS Server but also IPSEC to PIX and Netscreen (and each other).

Great little routers, not problem free - usually some gotcha's in the software.

I chose them becaue for the price they've the most flexible options on VPN's and PPTP was ver important to us for a simple and quick deployment.

Only one major flaw - on IPSEC you can't run multiple tunnels to the same remote host - so although I can make a tunnel to a 172.16.0.0 network I can't have a second tunnel to the same remote VPN gateway to cover the 192.168.20.0 network connected in the Office LAN. (With PPTP I can though)
