I open autocad and the drawing1.dwg comes up, I type in save and enter a file name. The problem is it is closing drawing1.dwg and i need it to stay open so we can still use our menus, code, macros etc. It was working fine and then I did some code changes and it quit. So I changed everything back and it still closes drawing1.dwg. What have I done?

What if you put all your layers, linetypes, blocks & etc into a template.You could use the acad.dwt or make you own template.
You might check the tools options system tab. Make sure that single drawing mode is not checked. That would close the drawing1.dwg when you opened a new drawing.

its all controlled through code, layers, txt styles etc. Thats an option. single drawing mode is not checked. That is what has got me confused. Its working on the other machines, they are the same as far as OS software hardware, might try reinstall.
