I recently started using illustrator cs2. When I draw a square it is not a "crisp" square, it is fuzzy. How do I get a clean square look?

Could it be anti-aliasing? You can turn it off by going to Edit > Preferences > General and turning off Anti-Aliased Artwork. The disadvantage is that all the curves will look jagged.

I assume you're using the rectangle tool and holding down the shift key to make the square. If so, try going to preferences/units and display performance. Move the slider to its highest setting.

Using OSX 10.3.9 on a G4

...also worth checking to see that you don't have pixel preview on. Go to view > pixel preview and turn it off...
