Drawing a "soft edge"

I'm sorry gang, I was sure that I'd seen this here before but I'll be darned if I can find it now.

What I want to do it to draw a solid colored square with one edge "soft", ie: I don't want to see a hard edge. Is this possible?

There's always a better way. The fun is trying to find it!

Just do a linear fill on your box and set one colour, ie. the right side colour, to a 0 alpha.
