I have this image on gif and i need to draw it on corel draw 9.0 so i can have it on vectors for later modifications. I just have no idea how to do it and whenever I try something, it is just way off the bird you see on the picture
Any tips?
Trace is a program that came with Draw. It traces bitmaps and makes vector files. Albeit, you will have a lot of clean up to do on the traced file (just the nature of the beast).
Why don't you just import the GIF into Draw and manually trace the image?
Yes, I have tried the trace program and helped me a lot (it actually did all the work) because my image was really a simple one.
How do I manually trace?
When I recreate a bitmap into a vector, if it is a very simple drawing such as the bird you have, I just draw a square, Convert it To Curves, grab the Shape Tool (node editor), and while your using that just place nodes around the object and turn some of the straight lines into curved lines and here is what I came up with...
go to this website and right click the link to "Save Target As" and save the EPS file. You'll be able to manipulate the image give it different fills etc... and use the drop shadow effect to give depth. (Instead of using a drop shadow I just duplicated the original image and filled it gray)
