I need to create maps for our website of where our buildings are. I can`t link straight or grab a map from multimap.com so I was going to

grab the map
put into a layer in photoshop
draw over it on a layer above of the roads etc

which would get rid of copyright issues.

The problem is my maps look awful (I`m not an artist and have limited photoshop skills). Is there a smooth line tool in Photoshop to make my lines of roads smoother (like in flash) and/or is there a better way to do this??

Thanks

yes.
The Pen tool. Select it, & in top left options make sure Paths is selected (the icon with the pen tool in a box).

Draw the lines that you want to make.
Then select the pencil tool, and select the diameter and colour of the pencil - this will be the width of line that you will make.
Then in the Paths palette click on the path that you have just finished (and at the bottom of the palette) select Stroke path with Brush(alt click for more options).

Moe: It could have been a real ugly situation, but luckily I managed to shoot him in the spine.

It would be better to 'trace' your map image in Illustrator. PLace the map image, lock it on its own layer, then add as many layers as you need to draw the various elements in the map. Layers can be turned on and off to help you see what you're doing. When complete, unlock and delete the original image before flattening and saving as a GIF.
