I used to be able to do this, now I can't for some reason, any ideas anyone... the file I'm dragging and the cursor stop at the Virtual PC window edge... to get the cursor onto the mac desktop I have to press the Apple Control key and that drops the file being dragged and changes the cursor to the mac one. This wasn't the case until our MIS dept updated our virus checking software and in so doing had to shut down and restart the machine. Is there a setting I'm missing?
I used to be able to just pick a file up and drag it onto the mac desktop straight from the Virtual PC desktop.

I'm not sure what version of VPC and what MacOS you are using so I cannot offer much help beyond suggesting that you check the preferences and map the Mac's desktop folder as a virtual drive in VPC. Depending on the Windows OS, you may be able to use the TweakUI control panel and make your desktop folder the same as the mapped MacOS desktop drive. By doing this, anything that you save to your desktop in Windows will appear on your Mac desktop as well.

Thank you very much for your response picklefish, it's amasing, you suffer from a problem for a while and when no one can help you post on here, and then someone comes along with a solution.
There is a tick box option in Virtual PC settings (virtual PC must be running) named Mouse. You must have a tick in the box that says "PC cursor tracks Mac Mouse" to allow dragging between windows. This was unticked but was also 'greyed out', so couldn't be ticked. This will only work if the W2K additions are installed, and although the mac said they were, they we had to reload them... and everything's OK!
