Draggable Mask? 1

I can get a shape to follow my mouse with drag movie actionscript, and I can use the shape as a mask, but I can't do both. (It creates a stationary mask where the shape was set in the layer). Ultimately, I would like a dark background with one word visible, but the spotlight travels with the mouse and as it travels over the word, it changes to another word. I hope that makes sense...I've checked flashkit, flashplanet, etc. without a finding a good tutorial, although plenty of examples (everyone knows how to do this but me!)

any suggestions?
