drag and drop on alais to open doc

I can not open my Quark 6.5 (os x) docs by dragging the document on to the application alais. It will open the application, but does not open the doc.
Tried new alais and tried on the actual application icon — save results.

Try trashing your prefrences or Re-installing the software.
