DR5.1 software question.

I currently have DR5.1 software on an 8x24 system. I have external vmail receiving stutter dialtone when there is a message. My question is can I program my system to have a message indicator button, light, etc to take the place of the stutter tone?
Second question is, I have multiple KSU's also DR5.1, can I link these together in order to intercom between systems?

M7310 adn M77324 sets can be programed as external msg sets in Admin 9. Call Services.
Stuttered dial tone isn't involved with this process but I don't know if your LEC can remove it and just give you the other part of the signalling.
Are your KSUs in different locations around the country/town? One thought:
If KSUs are at toll distances you could consider making a VOIP trunk, making it into a pool of its own, placing that as a pool key and then know the ext number you need at the far end. YOu'll need one pool key per target.... a little awkward with Mod 8X24s. This could be set up with ATAs as well haveing the ATA arrive as a trunk at the target site.

You can also add E&M trunk carts to both systems. Works very well on the 8x24 where you don't have the option of DTI's.

Thanks for the info. All the KSU's are in the same building in the same room, however, going to different departments. Would I still be able to route the call via a DISA or tearget line in order to intercom between multiple KSU's?

E&M cards would work for you in that circumstance. You will need one E&M card for every two loop start lines configured for auto answer. These of course need to go into Trunk modules. So as an example you would need two E&M cards and one LS/DS card to drive the four trunk circuits as auto answer.

Back to the voice mail question. How can I program the message light on each phone? Will the stutter tone still exist if I do this and will I be able to see the MWI?
