I have created a shared workbook in excel that have macros contained in them. Now users who try and open this workbook receive a Dr. Watson error. Excel.exe
Exception: access violation (0xc0000005),Address: 0x302f10c1. We have tried a number of things including recreating the workbooks. Destroying permissions and recreating them. Any ideas.

Having the same problem here. have no clue, do the files becomes corrupt, is it a memory issue??
We've tried everything from restoring files, recreating Etc.
Unistalling Office 97 installing NT SP6

Any ideas

Bad news. This topic has come up a number of times on this forum, with the consensus that the file is ruined, with no real answer as to the cause.

Some utilities are out there to "recover" a corrupted file, but ......

I have had luck using Excel 2000 to open the file, but the corruption seems to follow even when saved as a different version and then reopened in Excel 97.
