When attempting to open a file that I previously had no problems opening, I get the following error:

Dr.Watson
An application error has occured and a file error has been generated
CRW32.exe exception: Access violation
(0XC0000005), address:0x0071d503

Can anybody tell me if this is an NT problem, a corrupt file, or a problem with Crystal Reports 8?

Thanks
Diarmid

This sounds like a bug in CR that I hit a few weeks
ago. I called CR support, and they suggested deleting
db fields until you could open the database file.
And then experimenting with putting fields back,
until you figured out which fields caused the problem.
For me, I had a database field and a text field right
next to each other, and if I deleted them both, the
problem when away.

Good luck; you will need it.

try to "verify your database" first...did the report work before?? have you made any changes?? has your database changed unknowingly to you?? (I had this happen to me once :-( ... a so-called team member decided that the database should change and didn't tell the report writer.)
