Dr. Watson after installing 2 recent security patches

I have a client that installed 2 recent security patches today. One was a Virtual Machine securtiy patch and the other was an IE 5 security patch. After intsalling these, he rebooted. After logging in, he gets a message box stating 'Format Drive a:'. When he clicks ok, Dr. Watson pops up pointing to explorer.exe. Looking for any help at all!<br>
