dqkit - has anyone built using solaris sparc?

I've just started exploring dqkit, but I'm running into a problem building it. During linking, I'm getting an error:

/usr/local/gnu/sparc-sun-solaris2.8/bin/ld: cannot find -ldl

Could the file libtcl8.4.a be the reason - what? I know this might not be the best forum for this kind of post, but I just wanted to see if anyone has had success with dqkit ...thanks!!
