DPT Works for Analog Phone, not for IP Phone

Why would DPT work for an analog phone but not for an IP phone?


I have been working on this for a while but have not been able to solve this yet. Any help is greatly appreciated. I have PSTN trunks connected to both the main PBX in NR1 and the media gateway in NR2.

CM 5.2.1 Patch 13

Scenario: LSP Mode

Main PBX: NR1; extn 41707 (IP Station)
G430 / S8300 LSP: NR2; extn 2452701 (IP Station); extn 2453702 (analog station on G430)
The MG and IP phones were configured and registered to the main switch, then network-region 2 was disabled to simulate a WAN outage. The G430 and the NR2 IP phone then registered to the S8300 LSP in NR2.

1: When a call is placed from extension 41706 to 2452702 (analog station off of the NR2 gateway), the call is successful. DPT works as it should.

2: When a call is placed from extension 2451701 (IP station registered to the LSP in NR2) to extension 41706, the call is successful. DPT works as it should.

3: When a call is placed from extension 41706 to 2452701 DPT is not attempted and the caller hears a fast busy. List trace station on extension 41706 simply indicates reorder.

Once all DPT (Dial Plan Transparency) programming has been completed the IP phones will need to re-register with the Main server before fail-over will work.

Example:
1. Make sure the IP Network Map in CM has the IP address for x2452701 (and any other IP stations in the LSP location) set for NR 2
2. Set Incoming LDN Ext, Public Number Conversion, & DPT in Survivable Mode=y for NR 1 and NR 2
3. Save Translation All
4. Reboot IP stations
5. Disconnect remote location
6. Test DPT feature.
