DPT pm1564u3 and Abit KG7 will not enter controler bios

Removed all devices from Mobo except Vid card and Controller. When starting up hangs when trying to enter controller bios (crtl-d). Tried every slot. Controller is brand new retail version. Controller will enter bios when installed in my Dell system.

Not sure if this will help, but the dpt/adaptec website has some FAQs regarding DPT raid controllers being incompatible with some chipsets ( I know from bitter experience that adaptec tech support is pretty non-existant regarding DPT controllers.
