There is usually no problem distinguishing between a system with digital integration (such as Panasonic's DPT) and one with analog. All communication between the phone system and the VM is nearly instantaneous. I would say that if intercom-165 gets you into the VM, it is digitally integrated, because that is the default number for DPT-integrated systems. It is possible that a technician did a number change, which makes that test not 100% reliable. But if the VM answers you with a "please enter your password" in less than 2 seconds, THAT is DPT. An analog-integrated VM would take twice that time, or it would give you the main menu recording instead of the password prompt.
P.S. I'll bet you have been doing some reading and found some information, and now wonder if your phone system is configured the best way possible?
