for the web graphics normally are set to 72 DPI (dots per inch). That means that for each inch you have the screen will use 72 pixels.
If you have an image 7.5 inches long and a resolution of 200dpi that means that the screen will use 7.5*200=1500 pixels. that's only in one dimension.
Now if the image is a square 7.5*7.5 you are talking 1500 pixels horizontally and 1500 vertically.
if you lower your resolution to 72 dpi your image will be 7.5*72=540 pixels long.
Normally resolutions 200dpi and higher are good when you need to print your graphics.
