downloading?

don't really understand your question . do you mean that you want to have buttons inside your flash movie that on click it starts downloading a file from a url? if so you answered your own question . the files have to be uploaded to what ever server you are using , then just use the get url command to link to the file you want to download.
for instance if the file you wanted to download was a fla. file it would be like this...

But, if you have an application, on your machine, that can open the file you're trying to have downloaded it won't work.
It's better to choose an .ext (like a .zip), to start the default downloading application.
That's eaxctly what the "Download Package" button does in one of my files:
Download it and look at the actions on that button.
Of course the zipped files also have to be on your server!
