Hi, I've found forum thread215-788275 which explains how to set Windows to stop opening Office docs within IE (which loses functionality), but I wonder if anyone has a similar fix for Powerpoint files (.ppt not .pps)? I find that if I set the Advanced properties of PPT file types to not 'browse in same window', then clicking a hyperlink from IE (where the target is a PPT file) produces the desired prompt (Save or Open [in Powerpoint]) but selecting Open performs no action (as though I had cancelled). Is this just a bug I have to live with, or does anyone have a solution?
By the way, I'm also finding that setting the same properties with Word docs (.doc) achieves my aim of prompting the user, with the download opening in MS Word if Open is selected, but any macros still fail to run (unless I choose to save the document first then open it manually). Help with this also appreciated.
