Hi,
Have set up website and need people to be able to download Adobe Acrobat Reader PDF files from it. Have uploaded files to my website and put hyperlinks to them on site. When click Hyperlinks in published web it opens Adobe Acrobat and displays files on screen. How to I get it so it will actually prompt people to download them instead of opening them on screen??
thanks.

This is a user setting not a server setting. You can't set anything on the server side to mandate this. The first time they click a PDF they are asked if they want to open it or save it to disk. Most choose open it and leave the check box checked, which sets the configuration into memory.

The user can always click file save-as to save the file to the local hard drive after opening it.

If you really require them to download it the only option I can think of is zipping them up. » » » » » »

The only other option that I can think of is to instruct your users to right click on the file name which will allow them to save the file to their hard drive without opening the file.
