downloading images from a website

I'm using IE 5.5. When I right-click an image on SOME not all websites and select "Save Picture As.." the save as dialog box is indicating that the file is an unnamed bmp instead fo a jpg or gif. Anyone know what's doing this, a script perhaps?

It's caused by the link you used to get to the site. It's worded usernameassword/site name/ rather than site name/username login

Try going to the page by typing in the url manually.
