Hello ALL!

I wasn't sure where I should post this question, but since it involves html pages, I thought this might be a good first try.

I want to know if it is possible, via some sort of program or anything else, to download an entire website. There are loads of tutorial web sites out there, that have a link to each chapter in the tutorial, which means I have to be connected in order to go through the entire tutorial.

Local calls are not free in South Africa, and just to make it worse, Telkom (the monopoly phone company in SA) provides terrible service, making adsl or anything faster than a normal 56k line way way way too expensive.

It would be nice if I could download a site, and then offline, browse through it at my leisure.

Please help me, a disgruntled South African.

Sean.

If you were using IE for the Mac... you could use the built in functionality (save as web archive) to download a whole site to a single file (like a cache file).

But if you aren't... then you'll have to stick with more reliable software *grin*

Sean... I use httrack and it works quite well. The only problem you'll run into is if the site is robot protected. All you'll get is the index page.

There's always a better way. The fun is trying to find it!

This one is also great (better I think)
