Downloading a .wav, without envoking a plug-in?

I have a site where you can download samples in .wav format. If you try to download one, it loads up a plug-in to play the file! The user will have to right-click (or hold-click for Mac) the link and select Save Target As. I believe it is a shift-click for NN. As for some sort of code to keep this from happening I would suggest zipping the file up so that when the user clicks on it the download option box will appear.

Yeh, I tried the zip option, but the server that my site resides on, will not allow zip files for some reason! I hoped there was a way of avoiding the right-click and save as, because it just doesn't appeal to me, maybe it's just me!!
