Hi,

I don't have the CMC7 font in the list of fonts available in my printer. How can I download this font using PCL commands?

Thanks.

mauro

First, find a suitable PCL soft font and then copy it the printer. Binary copy BTW.

copy /b fontfile LPT1:

would be appropriate in DOS to get the file to the printer attached to LPT1;

copy /b fontfile \\computername\sharedprintername

to send the file to a printer attached to a computer on a network.

This is all covered pretty well in the PCL5 Tech Ref.

This applies in a purely PCL context. If you are eventually printing through a windows printer driver, then simply installing the required font into windows should be all that is necessary to use it with your application.

Hi,

an additional comment about my question is: I would like to transfer the font (available locally) dinamically once this font is available on the file system.

thanks.

Assuming the printer allows uploading of soft fonts, then a simple bat statement at startup should work on most win o/s.
