Download Times in Dreamweaver

I'm fairly new at this. But why does Dreamweaver not display the page's file size and download time correctly when I use a large image as a table background? For example, when I use a large 158k image as the background for a table, the size and time at the lower right display as 1k/1 sec. Is this a program bug? Thanks!
