Service Pack 2 is inclusive of Service Pack 1, the hotfix rollups, the security patches, and the IE security updates through the security announcement period of mid-July.
In addition, several security hotfixes for pre-Service Pack 2 versions of IE are not applicable in the SP2 setting, as the vulnerabilities do not exist under the service pack.
Can you wait a couple of days?
If not:
. make sure you have a firewall, even the native ICF firewall of XP
. The cumulative IE Security and other Hotfix was released a week ago: although Windows Update should have "pushed" this change for you.
