Hi guys,

I just installed Apache 1.3.28 on my PC but typical newbie problem, I can't get SSI to work.
I installed it from binary and I was under the impression that mod_include was "included" if you excuse the pun.

Anyway when I enabled it, it returned an error saying it could not find mod_include, and it's not in the modules directry.

I searched the web and the Apache home page but the only mod_include I could find was a modified one on Hotwired.

Anyone know where I can download this module?

What is the output of

httpd -l

This will show you if its compiled in or not.

Once we see that we can go to the next step.

forgive the ignorant, I had a look but couldn't figure out where to put that command. Can you give me a quick explanation?

Checking my httpd.conf the loadmodule line for mod_include is commented out and if I uncomment it I get an error when I start the server. But the addmodule line is already uncommented !??!

httpd is the binary applicate of apache. You want to go to the directory where it is and type :

httpd -l

and give us the output
Tx!

Not to leave without a conclusion.

The version of apache I had (got it on CD from a friend) obviously wasn't a full version.
When I downloaded it off the web and installed it it worked (with some configuration/debugging)

Sorry if I wasted you're time, I should have done this first!
