Anytime I download a file with IE 8, I get the standard "save, open file dialog box. IF I select save, the file starts to download. Then when it completes I get an error "Cannot read from file or disk" and the download fails.

I can download using firefox, so this must be a IE setting or config option, any ideas?

Thanks

I found the solution was not to use Internet Explorer for anything at all!

Apparently it's something to do with the way that IE downloads to a temporary file name in the cache, then moves the file to the chosen location, and somewhere along this route looses track of the filename.

I never found a real solution to the problem, so just marked it down as just one more good reason NOT to use Infernet Exploder

Chris.
