download emails from hotmail to outlook express

I am using outlook express in window98. I made an hotmail account in outlook express to download emails from hotmail account. I assumed the mails downloaded were stored locally. Thus, I deleted all mails from hotmail. Unfortunately, all mails in outlook express were gone too. Is there any way I can get those mails which I lost? I am so desperate. Please help me out.

Could they still be in your hotmail 'Deleted Items' folder? If not, unfortunately they are gone. In the future, within OE, you can drag messages from your Hotmail inbox to any OE local folder - inbox, drafts, special_stuff, etc.
