I have a pdf file on my web server. I want to be able to have the user download the pdf file from an asp page - a link. For security purposes would it be possible to hide the actual path of the file on the web server, etc... C:\temp\test.pdf..

On the asp page have Download File Here.. When you pass the mouse over the link I need to ensure the physical path is not exposed.

The "exposed" path is the contents of the HREF property of the anchor tag: <a href="blahBlahBlah.pdf">

The HREF contains a URL so an easy way would be to set up a virtual directory in IIS and use that for the URL... IIS would "translate" the virtual directory to a physical path on the server.
