Downgrading from R9 to R8

We want to downgrade an IPO from R9 to R8 so we can use softphones without need for Preferred Edition License. Question now is if we recreate the SD Card with R8 and reload the licenses, will the R9 Power User License work or do we need to order R8 Power User License?

Licenses are always backward compatible so yes the licenses are valid on R8

The licence requirements are the same for R8 as they are for R9, softphones have always required preferred, it's just if you had a virtual essential licence that was ignored ...do you?
