[EDIT] BrainAFK - it's an IPOffice 500v2 :)

Hiya!

I already asked Google, but all downgrades are for R8 to R7 or something like that with license changes etc.

I just need a simple downgrade from 9.0.12 to 9.0.5, because we have an error with our SIP Trunk (registers 5+ times at the provider, calls wont get routed, because 4 registers are dead but the ip office renews it regularly...) and I would like to exclude the upgrade we did some days ago as the error.

I already backed up the current CFG and binarys, I still have the backup from before the upgrade, de-installed the 9.0.12 manager, installed 9.0.5, tried "upgrade", told me "failed".
Can I even do that with the manager? Or do I need to remove the SD from the system and copy it directly on the SD? I would prefer I could do it from home over the manager (manger running locally on a PC, I connect per RDP).

From what I got till now, I have to "upgrade" to 9.0.5 with the manager and then upload the config from 9.0.5.

Thanks so much!

Where does the failure occur, when it is uploading the files to the system?

You can simply re-format and re-create the sd card using manager then pop the sd card into the system ONLY after you have powered it down first. boot the system back up and you should be able to restore the config.

You can also copy the old config to the primary folder AFTER you have re-formatted and re-created the card then when you power the system down, insert the sd card and power back up and everything should come backup as well as the firmware download to the phones, unless you disable the tftp option so the phones do not downgrade their firmware. If you have a large system, the phones would be down until they reflash their firmware to 9.0.5 release.

I agree you want to recreate the SD card to downgrade. You should backup your voicemail files on your sd card before wiping everything out first if you plan on doing a reformat.

Browse to your sd card in your computer
system>dynamic>lvmail has all your voicemail files (voicemails, greetings, names etc)
AAG folder in lvmail is custom greetings made outside the system

Once your reformat and recreate simply copy these files back to the same spot.

The truth is just an excuse for lack of imagination.

This might be a silly question. Did you check all the little boxes on the left? It won't down grade by default from a higher version, you have to tell it what parts to do.
I also don't see the reason for powering down the system for any of this. Use manager or system status to stop the card. Pull it. (I personally would just recreate unless you suspect a corrupt SD card.) When done pop it back in, reboot, and your done.

Yeah. I open the manager > upgrade > UpgradeWizard Windows opens > Checkbox for all parts
Upgrade_znefvz.png
hit Upgrade and it says "failure" after a check and a msg box "Couldn't upload data ..."

But I didn't see the "Überprüfen" checkbox ("check data" in english) ... could it be that?

Note: In the screenshot I didn't check the boxes, but I did of course when I tried it :)

I'll bet dollars to donuts that you have Windows Firewall turned on. Turn it off and the upgrade/downgrade should succeed.

The Validate shouldn't make a difference. The only other reason I have seen one fail is the wrong 'password'

Ya the message for wrong password is actually transfer failed. I still always recreate SD card to downgrade... then again I prefer to recreate to upgrade too. As stated you can do it while system is running just shutting down the SD card. Only lose voicemail (and if vm pro you lose nothing) and you can be back up in 10 or so minutes if you remove unwanted languages from the memory card file.

The truth is just an excuse for lack of imagination.

Ok guys, thanks for all the answers!

I did everything right, the only problem was the Routing...
The server was in two networks with different IP addresses and the manager connected rightly to the IPO.

BUT when I hit "update" it tried to make a connection for the file upload over the other IP address and it's gateway.

This shouldn't be a normal behaviour, because the TAPI on the server also connects like it should. Something was really wrong here.

After I removed the standard gateway everything worked as it should :)
