I need to move a MySQL database created with MySQL 4.1.22 on PHP 5.2.3 to a different server with MySQL 3.23.58 on PHP 4.3.8.

Is it possible to convert the database to do this?

Alternatively, is there a way to export from the newer version in a format that the older version will accept?

As I wrote the question above, I realised that there might be an option in PHPMyAdmin to do this.

In the Export Options, one can choose "SQL compatibility mode" and then use MYSQL323.

I tried this and it seems to have been accepted by the older MySQL.

Case closed.
