Hi everybody,

does anyone here know about how to downgrade a configured callmanager from 6.1.3b back to 6.1.2?

My problem is as follows:
I wanted to upgrade our working and configured 6.1.3b to 7.0...as most of you perhaps can figure out, no way to direct upgrade towards 7.0...i found out for myself, today. :-(

Since we HAD a 6.1.2 before, but with some strange behaviours, i tried as recommended and updated the CUCM to 6.1.3 ... so i got the 6.1.3 on the inactive partition, switched version, booted, and all worked ... besides the mentioned strange behaviours. So i did the next update to 6.1.3b an the inactive partition, so i now had the 6.1.3b on the inactive partition, switched version, booted again. OK, everything fine, all worked, without the issues we experienced before.

Now we wanted to upgrade to 7.0, ordered some time ago, i tried today to do the update, and it ended with the error message not possible with this version.

On both partitions i have got the version 6.1.3, so no switch version will be possible to solve my problem.

Ist there any way to downgrade the configured CUCM to the compatible (for the update!) version 6.1.2?
There are so many things configured, i don´t want to make a clean install...if under any circumstances i could do a downgrade. Use 7.1 tu do the upgrade from 6.1.3b is not an option, since we have the 7.0 here already... :-(

Or is it possible to export the configuration of the CCM from 6.1.3b and import it in a fresh installed 6.1.2 ... so i can upgrade from this version then?

Any help would be very appreciated, many thanks in advance! :)

Andreas

There is no way. You need to order the 7.1 upgrade.
Once you order it (and assuming that you have software assurance) you can download the upgrade at no cost.

Your only other option is a clean install and manually enter the data after extracting it manually using BAT.

It will take you 2 minutes to order the 7.1 upgrade on line and a couple of hours to download it. The upgrade is a breeze after that.

Unfortunately you cannot downgrade. That was the response we got from Cisco TAC

Hmph...that is what i was afraid of, since i knew the upgrade paths...of course AFTER we upgraded.

I tried a little bit with the BAT Export/Import function, has anyone experience with this feature? I tried with a fresh install of 7.0 under VMWARE, and it seemed that the most entries weren´t successfully imported, only a small percentage. Crappy little bit of software, or perhaps PEBCAC? I don´t know...

Any hints would be appreciated, thank you in advance.
