I came across a customer whose phones were all dead. Nothing on the screen. Ksu has power, flashing blue and red light. I take the phone with cord and plug directly to the ESI 1-4 or ESI 5-8. At least that should work, nothing worked. I reset it many times. held down the red reset button for 10 seconds, nothing. I opened it to make sure nothing was loose, all secure. Also tried the analog port, nothing. What could it be? I have yet to have a bad system (1100 or 2100). Not sure if it is just a bad card or KSU is totally bad. I did not try a laptop with PcPro.

If you can get a database back up do so. If it's not a hardware issue, try a factory default. Power down. Press and hold the red reset button. Keep it pressed down while powering up. Continue to hold it down for ~10 seconds then release it. Wait ~ 4-5 minutes for it to default and reboot. If you still have nothing, then is probably a hardware issue.

I would suggest the system has copped a surge or similar, check with Laptop that you can access and get database, and on these systems the ESI1-4, ESI5-8 ports are all on the main board, so would likely mean a new system, not just new cards.

You could attempt to add an 0800 Daughter board to the system if customer isn't willing to purchase a new system, but there is no gauge to the extent the system is damaged, and this bandaid could fail in a day or a few years.

Agree on the surge. I later saw a burnt / melted power strip. But I figured that if the system was shot, no lights would be the first sign. We have lights.

It probably affected the PSU. You can measure the voltages, however it is not a replaceable part. The SL1100 was officially discontinued from NEC.
