hi everyone. Based on the next scheme:

I wanna create a VLAN for Voice on Baseline 2948, and I wanna configure QoS on it but is my first 3Com switch configuration and I dont have much relations with the webUI.

My questions are:
- If my PBX is in a different network segment (192.1.10.51 /24) and my ip phones are in other (192.1.11.0 /24) Do I create a separate VLAN Voice, one for each segment? I mean can I create a two voice VLAN on one switch?

- What is the recommended parameters to my ip phones, I mean, priority, Cos to que, bandwidth?

Thanks...

Why put the PBX in another VLAN than the IPPhones?
Create a Voice VLAN, put the PBX in the same Voice VLAN.
The Voice VLAN ID must be the same on all switches.
On the Avaya Switches put the port on "trunk" so that you can put the ports untagged on default VLAN, and tagged on the Voice VLAN.
The port on the 3Com switches that are connected to the AVaya switche must also be on trunk with default untagged and voice tagged. Then the IPPhones must have a Voice VLAN ID so the can go to the 192.168.11.x network.

What typ of PBX are you using? maybe i have some info that makes it clearer.

I think with your reply, I have more questions and doubts about it. I dont understand completely, because VoIP is not my area but I have to configure this part of the network.

First. About the PBX is a S8300 on Media Gateway G450 (192.1.10.51 /24) and the assigned range for the ip phones are from 192.1.11.1 /24 to .11.34 /24, I don't know if exist space in the 192.1.10.0 /24 subnet But, for example, if doesn't have more space in this subnet (I mean, from .11.35 to .11.254 area in use) what can I do? what happen if the others subnets doesn't have the enought space for PBX, IP phones and the rest of voice configuration? What is the posible solution to this scheme?

Other ones:
. Is posible create and configure a VLAN voice on the avaya PoE switch?
. It is correct, based on the next figure, create a VLAN voice if the PC is on one subnet and my ip phone in other? how I can built this kind of scheme?

. In the moment to create and set up the VLAN voice and the ports on it, if the ports are in use, do I affect the operation of the PC's ?

. What configurations are require to deploy QoS on VLAN voice? I mean, what parameters are recommended or what mechanisms are correct to configure?

Thanks again...
