one of our micros 2700's (touchscreen version) has a strange display issue nobody knows how to fix.

the LCD viewscreen up top is divided horizontally with the upper half of the display duplicated on the lower half (ie. 2copies of the top half of the screen).

this had happened a bunch of years ago to a different unit, but nobody can remember how to fix it. I looked in the manuals (user&programming) and can't find any info relating to this. I also found a description of this occurrence on wefixmicros.com, and a description "reset the display...contact us" but no description of how to reset the display. I poked around in system configurator, but couldn't find anything obvious.

system reset doesn't fix it (pwr cycle w/key & shift clear), nor does deleting the entire database and rebroadcasting from one of the other units.

It's called a "Video reset". The double screen is common. With the Mgr key inserted and turned clockwise, turn the terminal off, while holding down the bottom right corner key on the keyboard, turn the terminal back on. The screen at that point may display in reverse video, then perform a "system reset". IE: key turned clockwise, while holding down "Clear", turn back on. Using a combination a "video resets" and "system resets" you can fix that problem yourself. Good Luck. I've heard of Micros dealers that swap the screen when this happens. $500 solution for a $5 problem
