Double size when backup Groupwise email database

Our GroupWise database used 60GB of disk space in file server, but when I backup the GroupWise database, the data size in the tape would be around 120GB. I am sure that I had enabled compression when start backup.

Our Groupwise is ver.6.0, Netware is 5 and I used Arcserve 9.01sp1 with GWTSA to backup our Groupwise.

Has anyone know is it normal for my backup system?

I had the same issue - somehow the backup was backing up the OFFILES folder twice - once as part of the post office and once somewhere else. I excluded one of them and was good to go.
