HI,

AIX 4.2.1.

After some system crash I have 2 DISKS with identical PVID:
lspv
hdisk0 0049847ab78a7bf2 rootvg
hdisk1 0049847a0d244f4f None
hdisk2 0049847a0d244f4f None

exports.imports,rmdev,chdev,etc did not help.
lquery shows that the LV's have the correct numbers on both disks, but he PVID realy appears identical on both. The issue is not in ODM - but on the disks.
Any suggestions ?

are you sure there are 2 different phisical disks in the system with the same PVID?

lscfg|grep disk

lsdev -Cc disk

normally the removing should solve the problem...

rmdev -dl hdisk1
rmdev -dl hdisk2
cfgmgr

do also check if there is an non-rootvg VG on "lsvg" output. if yes do export it before cfgmgr. later on you will import it again.

maybe some bug in microcode?

r, m.
