Hi,

I am not sure if this is the rigt forum, but I have a question in regards to the bandwith of my pc.

Right now my computer is connected to my ethernet using a netgear 100 baseT adapter.

I wanted to know is there a way of doubling my bandwith?

One thought I had was to install another ethernet adapter and then "fuse" those two connections together somehow a la RAID 0.

Any ideas? thnx.

This can be done, but you are better advised just to upgrade to gig ethernet.

You need a switch which can do link aggregation (etherchannel and multilink trunking are other names for this) and software for your NICs which uses an identical algorythm as your switch.

Unless the gear you already have does this, gig ethernet will be as cheap.

I tried to remain child-like, all I acheived was childish.

Providing, of course, you have a Gigabit switch!

Carlsberg don't run I.T departments, but if they did they'd probably be more fun.

I bet a low end gigabit ethernet switch is cheaper than a 100 meg switch with link aggregation features.

Yes, you're probably right. Neither will be particularly cheap though.
