Double lines when using enter

When I press enter in Dreamweaver 4, instead of going to the next line, it goes one more line. So I have a space in between the lines. Can anyone tell me how to fix this?

Yep,hold down the shift key and THEN press enter. Know anything about building an online message board with Dreamweaver?
