What is this?

We use a Mitel 3300, and the CEO of the agency is wanting her secretary to set her telephone's primary number on Call-Forwarding-Internal-NoAnswer to the switchboard whenever the secretary walks away from the desk. In other words, she wants her phone answered at all times during the day rather than go directly to her voice-mail.

I know how to set the secretary's phone to CFIN to the front desk, I just don't know how to use the secretary's phone to set the CEO's primary number to CFIN.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I've been told that Double Hop Call Forwarding is an option, or 2nd Alternative in Call Rerouting so that it is automatic to set the CEO's primary number to CFIN.

Thanks.

If yoy don't want to use call reroute and you do want the secretary to set call forward on the CEO's phone you could always let her have access to the desktop GUI and enable/disable it from there

Now that presents an interesting thought. Since the applications for the 3300 are web-based for controlling the phones in Microsoft Active Server Pages, how can I gain access to the programming where I can write my own desktop scripts that can activate and deactivate call forwarding or other scripts to access features of the phone on the users desktop?

Is the programming mnenomics proprietary and unable to be shared?

Thanks.

There are three tools available on the 3300;

Desktop tool - this has access to one specific extension

Group Admin - this has access to all extensions

System Admin - used to configure the box.

Both the desktop and the group admin tools have the ability to configure and activate call forwarding. So you could set up a desktop tool for your secretary which points to the CEO's handset. Secretary browses to the 3300 and has one user name for her own extension and a different user name and password for the CEO's extension. She then simply clicks on the call forwarding option from the drop down box configures it and activates / deactivates it as required.
