Double-ampersands showing up in cbo displayvalue

I've got a bunch of comboboxes that display values containing ampersands, like 'arrest & booking', 'search & seizure', etc.
They appear fine in the dropdown list, but when selected, they display with double ampersands: 'arrest && booking'.

I'm running VFP 8 on Windows 2000 -- never had that problem with VFP 7.

Any ideas ?

Try using.. CHR(38) instead of &
For example...
'Arrest '+CHR(38)+' booking'

It's a known visual problem in VFP 8.0 (i.e. it just looks wrong, the data is right!). It's likely to be fixed in SP1 - which according to Ken Levy should be available next month (

but it'll depend on the beta testing.
