I am producing a document that needs to be as 508 compliant as possible. Its final destination will be 95% online viewing in PDF format.
Currently it is only 19 pages. Which includes a Table of Contents (TOC). My dilemma is that the TOC has dotted leading and when I have been PDFing the file (with the eBook Tags option checked) the TOC's dotted leading is replaced with the box character, of doom, ok so it isn't that bad - but it is frustrating. I have done a lot of troubleshooting and found ways to keep the leading from doing this, however those solutions require that I hand enter the Alt text for all the (30something) images. [I have already added alt text to the images in InDesign, but they only carry over if the eBooks Tags check box is selected] I have found the check box for eBook Tags to be very helpful, but in this regard I am at an impasse.
Has anyone else encountered this issue?
