Hello!

I know how to make a dotted line in Fireworks 4.0 but I don't know how to make the dotted line look like cutting line. If I make a dotted line with rectangular dots, those dots don't make 'the turn' if the line goes verticaL.

If I want a rounded rectangle with dots, the dots should make a 90 degrees turn if the line goes vertical.

Do you know how to do this?

Thank you!

I realize this is an old post but I am going to explain how to do this just in case anyone is still interested....

very simple:

Draw a circle of whatever size you would like, use the text tool to create a series of dashes or underscores, select the circle and the text together, then select Text/Attach to Path(ctrl + shift + y)

Presto! Ya' Gotta Love It!

I have a problem that I need help with.I designed some pages in Fireworks for a client and everything works fine
except when downloading these pages.
All pages have the same number of buttons (9 total) and as the cursor passes over the buttons a graphic will pop up somewhere else in the page to display a different product for each of the buttons. All slices and swapping rollover effects work fine. When exporting these pages to Dreamweaver no problems are found.Except when all these pages were uploaded to my client's server site.
It takes way much longer to download than the approximated time indicated in dreamweaver. Is it that perhaps the images that I sliced are not properly optimized? or the way I am slicing is not correct?(I am only slicing the areas that I need to affect.nothing else). When the browser rebuilts the pages in slices it really takes a long time.
Can someone please help.

Fireworks is very file heavy... I have written a FAQ (faq726-621) on optimization techniques which will help some however, I do not recommend building complete sites in fireworks.

you can also designate certain slices as text instead of images and that will help the file size as well. Ya' Gotta Love It!
