DOT4 Port

I am having problems with a hp prt/fax/scanner. Is there any way to remove a
DOT4 port once installed. So I can reinstall software to lpt1 port??????

I'm not at a computer that has it installed right now, but if I remember right, it shows up in Device Manager. Try to uninstall it from there. I think your HP software will reinstall it though.

Yes, it's there - listed as IEEE 1284.4 devices MS Dot4 {printername}

If this is a laserjet 1200 series, there's a fix on HP's website. Its called xpcommpatch.exe - is't about 500K, works like a charm.
